SERVICES

Fees and transparency

Every client’s situation is different, and so is the support I provide.  Some people need just a few hours of help, while others prefer an ongoing package. Depending on your needs, fees may be structured as an hourly rate or as a package.

Whatever we agree, you’ll always receive a clear outline of costs in advance, no surprises, no hidden extras.

How advocacy complements professional services

Take Brenda, for example.  She had excellent legal support, but needed someone she could trust to help with everyday admin during a difficult time.  Someone to walk alongside her and turn advice into action.

Testimonials

TESTIMONIALS

I had no idea how to deal with a situation. I would panic, worried I would say or do something wrong. I trust Kirsti 100%. I have no-one else to turn to that I trust. I hadn't realised my mobile phone company were charging me for a landline phone package - I don't have a landline!

Brenda Basnet

A fantastic result when Kirsti stood by me!  Kirsti gave me the confidence and backup to negotiate a very complicated

insurance claim.  It enabled me to drive through all the red tape and claim what I was due.  Guiding, Supportive, Focused, Excellent outcome.

Sheila Rantor

I felt completely overwhelmed by my paperwork and financial commitments. It seemed like every time I needed an important document, I couldn’t find it. Kirsti’s organisation changed everything. She patiently went through my insurance policies, bank accounts, and even my utility bills, helping me centralise everything into a system that I now use every day.

My Story

My

Story

Portrait of Kirsti Cox, founder of Kirsti Cox Advocacy, wearing glasses and a red cardigan against a neutral grey background

Hello, I’m Kirsti Cox

I’m passionate about helping individuals, particularly seniors navigate today’s digital world.  Too often I hear "Just because I’m older, it doesn’t mean I don’t understand.”  Those words stay with me and fuel my determination to ensure older people are treated with respect, not dismissed or taken advantage of.

With nine years of financial advisory experience and collaborations with trusted professionals, I bring compassionate, judgment-free, unbiased support.  My work is guided by a strong moral compass and a commitment to always doing the right thing.

Over the years, I’ve supported friends, neighbours, and clients with the challenges of life admin and technology.  I’ve seen how frustrating it can feel to be left behind by apps, passwords, and online forms, or how isolating it feels to have no one nearby to turn to.

That’s why I created Kirsti Cox Advocacy, to provide trusted, professional support tailored to your needs, so you can feel empowered, organised, and back in control.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to get in touch for a confidential, no pressure conversation.  Whether you’d like support with one of my bespoke services or simply want to explore what’s possible, I’m here to help.

  • Can I trust Kirsti Cox Advocacy?
Yes. I bring nearly a decade of experience in financial services. I am guided by integrity, not incentives. I am DBS-checked, fully insured, and work with complete confidentiality. I don’t sell products, my role is to provide impartial, practical support. I’m also an Affiliate Member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA), and I work closely with trusted professionals such as financial advisers, will writers, and accountants to make sure you have the right expertise around you whenever it’s needed.
  • Do you charge for your services?
Yes. My support is a professional service. Because every client’s situation is different, I don’t list fixed prices online. Depending on your needs, fees may be agreed on an hourly basis or as a tailored package.
  • How much does your support cost?
Every person’s needs are different, so I don’t publish fixed fees online. Depending on what’s right for you, we may agree on an hourly rate or a tailored package. Whatever we decide, I’ll always provide a clear outline in advance so you know exactly what to expect. For in person support, there is no travel charge within Brighton & Hove. If you live further afield, travel time and expenses may apply, and these will always be discussed and agreed with you before any work begins.
  • What kind of help do you offer?
I provide support that is tailored to your situation. This might include - Reviewing household bills and direct debits - Organising documents, policies, or accounts into one clear system - Helping with phone calls, letters, and forms - Attending medical, legal, or financial appointments with you - Acting as a trusted point of contact when family can’t be there - Supporting with house moves: handling the paperwork, updating your new address with banks, insurers, utilities, and the many online platforms and providers that need to be notified If you’re not sure whether I can help, just ask, the chances are I can. Read Brenda's story ⬇️
  • Can you help someone I care about?
Yes. Many people make contact on behalf of a parent, friend, or loved one who might need a bit of extra help. If you're unsure, just get in touch for a chat.
  • How is Kirsti Cox Advocacy different from a financial adviser?
As a former financial adviser, I understand financial systems well. I no longer sell or recommend financial products. My role is purely advocacy and organisation. I help you understand your options, make sense of paperwork, and stay in control. If specialist advice is needed, I can connect you with trusted professionals.
  • Do you work with solicitors and other professionals?
Yes. I often work alongside solicitors, accountants, will writers, and financial advisers. They provide the professional advice, while I make sure you understand it, act on it, and keep everything organised.
  • Where do you work?
I’m based in Brighton & Hove and provide in person support locally without any travel charge. I also work across Sussex, London, and further afield. I’m happy to travel anywhere, provided travel time and expenses are covered. We’ll always agree this upfront so you know exactly what to expect.
  • How is advocacy different from legal advice?
Advocacy is about support and action, not giving legal advice. A solicitor provides legal expertise and direction. My role is to help you understand, organise, and act on that advice. I can attend meetings with you, explain documents in plain language, and make sure nothing is overlooked.
  • What is a professional advocate?
A professional advocate offers trusted, impartial support to help you manage life admin, digital challenges, legal paperwork, appointments, and difficult decisions. This could be during times like bereavement, illness, or separation.
  • How do I get started?
The first step is a free chat. This gives you a chance to share your situation, ask questions, and see if I’m the right fit for you. From there, we’ll agree the level of support you need and how best to move forward. You can call on 07900190285, email at hello@kirsticoxadvocacy.com
  • What makes Kirsti Cox Advocacy different from a carer, solicitor, or support worker?
Kirsti Cox Advocacy offers a unique service that bridges the gap between formal care, legal guidance, and practical everyday support. Kirsti is not a carer, so she doesn’t provide medical or personal care. She’s not a solicitor, so she doesn’t give legal advice. And she’s not a support worker tied to any public service or organisation. Instead, Kirsti works directly with clients to provide the trusted, impartial help they actually need. Whether that’s organising paperwork, preparing for legal or medical appointments, or supporting them through complex decisions with clarity and care.
  • Does Kirsti bridge the gap between care, legal, and everyday support?
Yes, this is exactly where Kirsti’s advocacy service is positioned. Many people find themselves needing help that doesn’t clearly fall under social care, legal aid, or traditional support services. Kirsti steps into that space, offering practical, trustworthy, and confidential assistance with the real life challenges that don’t always have a clear solution. This might include acting as a professional next of kin, supporting clients through hospital visits, helping with online accounts, or navigating important life decisions. Her role is to provide practical and emotional support that’s completely independent and without agenda.
  • Can Kirsti help if someone doesn’t qualify for social care or legal aid?
Absolutely. If someone doesn't meet the criteria for state-funded support, but they still feel overwhelmed, isolated, or unsure where to turn. Kirsti offers a bespoke, one-to-one service designed to fill that gap. Whether someone is dealing with a bereavement, divorce, family breakdown, or simply facing complicated paperwork or systems alone, Kirsti offers calm, capable support that empowers her clients to move forward with confidence.
  • Who uses Kirsti Cox Advocacy, people with care needs, legal issues, or just life admin overload?
All of the above. Kirsti works with a wide range of individuals, including older adults without nearby family, people going through separation, those with neurodiverse needs, and busy professionals trying to support loved ones. Her clients often describe feeling stuck or unsure where to turn. Whether they need one-off support or ongoing help, Kirsti provides practical, grounded advocacy that’s tailored to each person’s circumstances, with empathy, professionalism, and no judgment.
  • What is SOLLA?
The Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) is a not-for-profit organisation that helps people and their families find trusted, accredited financial advisers who understand the unique needs of later life. It promotes the highest standards of professionalism in financial advice for older people.
  • Is Kirsti Cox a member of SOLLA?
Yes. Kirsti is proud to be an Affiliate Member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA). While she is not a regulated financial adviser, her affiliate status reflects her dedication to supporting older individuals with trusted, impartial guidance and aligning with the high standards promoted by SOLLA.
  • Can we discuss what’s right for me?
Absolutely. I offer a free initial chat so you can share your situation and ask questions. From there, we’ll talk through what kind of support feels right for you, whether that’s a one off session or something more ongoing.
